Common Operational Picture
A dense, changing situation, read quickly and reliably.
Vigilia is a civil situational-awareness interface: thousands of aircraft and ship tracks on one map, with filters, track details, alerts and timeline replay. It is keyboard-first and dark, and it is built to run fully air-gapped.
- Zero external calls
- 5,000+ moving tracks
- Measured frugality budget
- Public & synthetic data only
What it is built to prove
Air-gapped by design
Offline vector map tiles that we generate and serve ourselves, bundled fonts, no CDN, no telemetry. One installable image that starts with no network. An end-to-end test with the network blocked runs in CI to prove it.
A measured frugality budget
Bundle size, memory, CPU and frame rate with N tracks, each with a target, shown live in the app and enforced by a perf test that fails when a target is exceeded. Every third-party dependency has to be justified.
An operator's interface
Dense, dark and keyboard-first. A clear severity hierarchy (info, warning, critical) that never relies on colour alone, so it stays readable for colour-blind operators.
A design system for critical interfaces
Tokens, a night theme and dense components (data tables, status indicators, alert hierarchy, track badges, timelines), built as a separate, reusable package with its own showcase.
